TUESDAY UPDATE: Wingless & The Instagram Life

I've been working on a butt load of projects. I still remember those I've written in old notebooks (some salvaged and used for major projects) and now I juggle five by the weeks with one above all.

Some posts back I revealed Project # 4 now titled Slumgarde. At the moment it is on first draft just like the others and now a fifth project has taken its place.

Project Wingless (Title Pending)

In the world of the winged, bedlam approaches.
Leona Snowsong, a wingless Dovekin of the Ave race, is wanted by the Ave Angelics of Avios Plane. Once a hunter now protector, Hawker Rynnick Ironsquall turns against the demands of the Angelics to defend Leona and the truth behind her rare existence. Now they roam the realm of Terra below in effort to keep ahead of the hunt.
For the Angelics must not claim the wingless.

This project has been in limbo for awhile until now, for there was another contending against it. I try to keep everything controlled in project numbers (for I can birth a bunch in a minute...literally) managed in my creative writing world while staying committed to the long awaited revival of Shadow Genesis. So far so good. It is an amusing wonder as to how I do it all.

Sometimes I wonder...about a few things in terms of my talents.

Meanwhile in the social networking world:

There are uncountable numbers in the Instagram Likes World. I have one, and I usually just post photos of random stuff if not just me (nothing conceited compared to those who are) and it is mainly a mobile media-sharing service that enables people to snap photos and videos and share over a social networking platform. One can connect to Facebook, Tumblr (which I hardly use now), and Twitter to name a few. I can say this app is a photographer's toy, especially one who also graphic designs (artists and such like me and the rest), and one can do some neat little enhancements with the filters Instagram has.

Everybody loves taking pictures. Same goes for getting 'Likes'.

Which comes to this neat little video by a good friend of mine, Das Johnson, called
Instagram LiKES in REAL LiFE. A soft-comedic spin that takes the whole Instagram trend to a more...real life spectrum so to say. Give this video your time and have a little chuckle. Leave a comment or so and share it around with your buddies!

RARE SUNDAY

"How I do I do it, one asks."

First I write quick mini drafts before getting into my main projects. I just started to write up short dialog scripts seriously between characters to get a better mood of what to do come time in manuscript work. In a way, I have been doing such exercises with The Multiverse Project for years, and never thought to implement such things into the Shadow Khan Project… which is quite weird of me to do.

Music is one of my powerful muses.

I am sure to have explained this once before, but I feel as if I need to explain just how inspirational music is to me when I write, and how not just any tune does the deed for me.

Often I set up a few music mixes when writing. Sometimes I don’t, but often I do. Some like to write in utter silence, which is commonplace, but I take to music or ‘noise’ more than silence. I suppose it is because I have been writing under the commotion of sound for long (back when I was just writing little story plot shorts and character summaries way back in middle school) that it doesn’t bother me at the least, plus, out here in the country surrounded by family is another reason. Kids can get wild, and I have a knack for multitasking.

Simply put, I can tune out other things and zone into what is important, and once I am in the zone, there is no stopping me… unless something major is up. When I go to bed, the earphones are in and the iPod is playing one of the many project mixes set up to help on whatever I plan to write on come morning.

As for my music mixes, they help for a particular scene, character, a time period, or a specific story mood when writing. It is one of the ways I submerse myself in both scene and sound, and helps the mood well. I find myself with more action sounds than anything, and just really updated softer, dramatic tunes. It is rare for lyrics to move me as much as pure instrumentals.

Earlier, a song called 'Into the Darkness' by The Phantoms caught my attention. I caught it off The Inquisitor trailer of Dragon Age Inquisition. It is a good song, lyrics are nice, though short, but it speaks to me when writing, especially when working on Shadow Khan.

At this moment, I am writing up a few mini event drafts now for Shadow Genesis Inception, to work off of. I have a few done, and been on for a few months (before the great computer/Office fall out). This blog was supposed to have been finished earlier, like an hour back… but a friend just popped up with that Ps4 Grand Theft Auto 5.

The first person mode is interesting.

SHADOW GENESIS | INCEPTION - PART ONE PREVIEW

I… must… have… Dragon Age!

After watching this footage right here, I swear, I get that strong need to play… but like everyone else, I must wait until October for Dragon Age III: Inquisition.

By then, I should have my Ps4.

Meanwhile, been rebuilding Part I intro to SG:I. Apologies for not showing this one before, and just skipping to Part II’s intro preview… but hey, I did show the Prologue of Umbra Divinius of Dark and how he creates Shadara. Yeah… a straight ‘Genesis I’… sort of.

My novel is not Shadow Genesis for nothing, so I had to make it ‘work’. To make up for that ‘skipperoo’ I present Part I preview of SG:I, introducing Malice herself… and her ‘cute insomnia’.

PART I

A tiring sky calms its tears, easing the rain away for a coming siesta. In its wake, a lively luna above rests to a darkening light above a shroud of colorful aurorae, Eos Veil, tapering to a faint shining spread. A lazy mass of winking stars mingle in its spread, stars that could shine no brighter behind its tiresome hues. Captivating, for anyone bound by land can easily lose themselves in a marvel upon the millions upon millions of stars sprawled along its dark. It is to say, that the uncountable populace living in the world’s largest city more than likely failed to lift their heads. The busy streets of Centra, the capital city of Darkgear Prime, is notorious for its mesmeric sights, more so than what a stargazer would claim far best than the typical urbane of city life.

The central city’s popularity stems from the very heart of its outstanding form, housing Shadara realm’s great sovereignty, the Khan Dynasty.

The Khans retained a rigid declaration over the realm for many eras. History details an aggressive start to power, and like any rise to such boundless hegemony, comes the many falls and twisted perversions staining ones hands in irrefutable transgression. As these series of events emerge long before the coming of Shadara’s new crown, dark and ruthless than the now, each bit of indiscretion bears heavy and irksome in weight upon her shoulders. Last of her family bloodline, Sovereign Malice La’Shade Khan has a lot to account for. Her birthright is more than just sitting on a throne she rarely occupies, and more than just wearing a crown that she hardly fashions herself with. In her opinion, she did not care for material holdings notating her title, for those and more did not make her a world queen, but it is what she does in actions far greater than words. That alone shows how determined and entrusting she has become, believing in the words of those held dear. Their faith in her tenet gives her strength, including the support of her people quiescent beneath her far below in the massive city of lights.

She stood there bare foot over-viewing Centra’s majestic expanse, as far as her beautiful lavender eyes can see, and she can see to the ends of the city’s great gates tall and without a doubt teeming with her faithful guard. The soft falling rain no more, she did not mind the wet surface of her royal terrace. In fact, she welcomes it as few lasting droplets come shy of damping her deep lavender hair and rich mocha skin, including a whispering breeze playing her simple gown to dance in a tiny sway of innocence. Nice to her skin, enough to sooth her habitual thoughts on events then and now. Including one such musing currently claiming her mind in a frenzy of intense contemplation.
She could not sleep because of it, strangely enough.
Her studies complete with books open and stack upon a table inside, and her bed showing telltale signs of previous unstill stir. It is apparent she was once at rest before succumbing to a city trance and gaze, but something for sure haunts her awake.
She feels the answers to her persistent distress will come soon enough.
