Let There Be Ricven

Black Man Big Sword
As the innuendo goes...

Yup, I 'almost' made an RPG.
Created… I say… around late 2011, The Multiverse was originally (now revealing) an old RPGMaker VX project called Breaker Blade. I scrapped the project and its demo I had done (which I cannot find at the moment) when things changed course (life stuff) and had other things on the mind. Fortunately, I kept a few things, added with other scrapped ideas until finally coming up with Ricven.

Short Info:
The Multiverse

High Fantasy Action Adventure Comedy

Chosen by the aeons, the gigantic sword-wielding adventurer Ricven Tavius McQueen II and his diverse gang of allies band together against various forces of evil and other odd and outrageous foes as they fight to keep balance throughout the entire Multiverse... easier said than done.

RICVEN: "My-my my my-my, the blacker the sweeter."
(Ricven during his face-off with a dark elf female)
Ricven T. McQueen (Unofficial Concept)
I created Ricven out of sheer funnies. Originally a character exploring worlds and getting into all sorts of situations from saving damsels to bedding damsels to fighting evil to getting his ass whooped by evil and everything in between said damsel wooing/evil kicking (and that is just a simple surface look). He was also (and still sort of is) a character I use in a few roleplaying spots (text based play-by-chat type), and has his own collection of short stories I aim to extend and create a novel of adventures for him. Ricven is a witty character to the fullest, heroic, hard to anger, charismatic and quite the paramour. In truth, when describing his wit and ‘shit talk’, he is a ‘lovable dick’ to some, and an all-out asshole to others who hate him (like the antagonists of course for example). Most of his wisecracks hold some sense other than being a ‘funny guy’, which ends up making people ‘think’. This is where his leadership and mentoring streak comes in. Sort of like the funny uncle in the family. He is careless, extreme, keen, and unafraid to tell it like it is, while being caring to those who deserve it. He is not an ordinary human, his race rivals that of elves as I have it for humor as well as physiology, and he comes from a world called Nu’Mecca (realm name pending for revisions). I realized a Nu Mecca actually exists… a restaurant in Chicago! HA!

Funny for I thought I made something unique only to find out it exists… weird on my part.

I got several new realm names on the list for Ricven’s home world.

Other than his world and race, he is beyond typical ‘human condition’ given the powers he obtains from the Aeons, divine beings that oversee the great universe and beyond. With his abilities of multi-world travel, Ricven is open to any and everything from worlds so advance that giant robots are an actual thing, dragons, medieval sets, modern realms just like our own but ‘different’ if so, and more. At a time, Ricven was the front boy of fantasy parodies where I poke fun at different works of literature and other things, like games, cartoons, movies. The way I implement those into said stories is a bit subtle, though easily noticeable with keen eyes. With a project like this I can do a lot with.

Before it was Multiverse
The RPGMaker project Breaker Blade, is now his weapon. Called the Edge Breaker’s Blade, Ricven’s ‘big ass sword’ is a weapon of giant-beast killing. How he uses it sort of relates to many other big sword users like Cloud Strife of FF7 and Siegfried of SoulCalibur (I remember Soul Edge back in the day) for example. I push to come up with unique moves for Ricven, while looking at how one handles such a large weapon already in other works as an example to work off of. Keeping in mind he can wield that amazing blade with crazy speed. Edge Breaker’s Blade is not the only weapon he has… for Ricven has an arsenal of goodies both neat and… weird. In the RPG project, the story was different. I didn’t have anything remotely hinting Multiverse, and in the demo I only used my name and a friend (who was also helping at the time) as ‘name holders’ until coming up with true character names to the game. Only three main characters are featured with one of the three with his own name created, Clyde, also in the Multiverse Project.

Like Project Chosen One, I have several installments already drafted out so I can do a lot when I get back on his project (small manuscript done of him). Added with his mini stories done, there is a lot to mess around with on Ricven.

He is considered one of my big three.
