The Chosen One

Created from childhood

"Have I told you about the legend of the chosen one?"
"Who arrived upon a star great high above?"
"With his mighty hands he will save us all."
"And deliver us, from the forces of evil."

Sounds cliché? Well I know how it begins and how it ends… and everything in between is not how it seems, is why I am meticulously taking my sweet time on my first character ever created since 'childhood'.

Short Info:

Slicka: The Chosen One
Extreme Action Adventure Comedy

Planet Nobarion's only hope in liberation against the reptilian Vor race rests in the hands of an 'alien visitor' by the name of Slicka, an earthling with mysterious powers.

Originally Slick Rick very long time ago (when I was but a kid in middle school), I failed in storyboarding plots (sort of) for I had no direction on where to begin and how to end… or did I? Maybe I just look back on those handmade comics and wonder what in the world was I thinking, only to see the true direction. Making comics was a past time for me. Will gather up pure white copy paper and either hole punch and tie with string or straight glue the edges, set a book on it as a paperweight and let dry, color the covers (if not just black and white) and boom, comic book. I also had a few friends help out back then too with the little construction work, which made things easy, and also had my own logo called 'Emerald Comics'. I made over seventeen issues of Slick Rick, and somewhere that is unable to be found at the moment made a sequel batch aside from the ones I have actually found. I think they cease to exist… long gone burned or trashed far out. Who knows, could be under the bed or closet collecting dust.

Slick Rick, at the time of comics, was the last surviving 'human' of planet earth who somehow during his spacecraft escape received an mysterious power by an unknown phenomenon. He uses these powers upon realization and careful guidance of an elder he meets on his new home/planet, Nobarion (was once Nobion and at a time Zion) along with several other characters both minor and major as they fight against monstrous foes (now reptilians) called the Vor (was once Vortex… don't ask, I was a kid back then).

That was just half of the story. There are two villainous factions in those comics (three counting what now recall the more aquatic version of the Vor) now changed for the better with character designs still going under mass concept upgrades (in my head) until perfect and ready for illustration (when the time comes). The story has been revised, and I have partially written a script for it when I graphic novel the entire thing. Looking at how Marvel and D.C. Comics script write theirs, I came to learn that there is apparently no real way to script-write though those two methods are pretty much foundation start-ups for me when looking at other examples before doing my own for Slicka.

For the most, I am practically done with a great deal of the story, divided into Sagas with each having the Slicka title and subtitle… making them sequels in simple terms. I had it mind because as usual when I brainstorm and direct things in mind, I see everything as either feature-length movies or thirty-minute episodes… or hour episodes… however they go. Pretty sporadic with it, at times… let's get out of my head of storms there.

This is why I say everything with this project is not what it seems. I decided to keep the original bits and fuse with new concepts, tinker about it so they remain stable, and any plot holes I grab those and add substance, which makes the story more complex than it is. I am not fully aware of every single trope there is (but there is a site for it) and back in the day, I didn't even know what the heck a 'trope' was. Appears I am retaining my youth with this project and slowly cranking the middle finger to those too cynical and jaded-out for their own good. For trust, there be many in the midst.

Any-who, the change from Slick Rick (old nickname of mine) to Slicka was a must. I no longer saw the need of having that moniker since everything was destined to change. Character names, looks, locations, lore, everything down to the very molecular structure (in some places) undergone a major makeover. I can say this is one of my Sci-Fi/Fantasy Action/Adventure models, with humor all the way through, and straight up hyper fights (when dealing with Slicka and his skills) that could possibly stand with many other of the same genre. My inspirations were many when I created him, therefore, he can be easily related to few others except his story… which is not even what it appears to be at a glance. I am still working that out.

When not working on SG:I, this project is touched on as well as Ricven's. Soon enough Slicka will get his light, as well as every other project.
